At least the lady whose book won knows the stuff I'm only just beginning to comprehend, and I appreciated how she recognized the glory of being honored isn't the main deal. “This is one night — one marvellous night. besides my silliness, ondaatje really is one of my favourite canadian writers, and i really can't imagine not benefiting from (and delighting in) reading his work. ya, honour, shmonour. though it is nice, hey?
